Barley yellow dwarf (BYD) is the most damaging viral disease in small grains worldwide. This publication discusses the viruses that cause the disease and the aphids that spread the viruses. It presents management strategies designed to minimize the impact of the disease. This publication was prepared by experts from Virginia, Kentucky, South Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama. The content will be most appropriate for these states but should also apply to other Southeastern states.
