Biosecurity is a series of actions taken to keep disease from a population of animals. Animals will develop immunity to organisms found within their group, but will be susceptible to the disease agents of visiting animals, those at livestock fairs for example. This publication suggests ways of reducing the risk of introducing new diseases to the herd, particularly aimed at youth swine projects that may attend livestock fairs.
