4-H programs stress “learning by doing,” encouraging youth members to organize and lead their own educational clubs, often with the advice of adult volunteers. This leader letter answers the questions that new 4-H leaders will ask themselves as they start a new club: How do I enroll my group as a 4-H club? How do we recruit members? What about insurance? Where and when should our club meet? Also included in this publication are examples of possible clubs and how they might get started.
