Many farmers in Alabama and the Southeast have found the drought tolerance of grain sorghum makes it an attractive alternative to com. By virtue of the short growing season, wide adaptation, and versatile planting date of grain sorghum, many producers also recognize the ease of fitting this crop into double-cropping and crop rotation systems with soybeans, wheat, and other crops.
